...a Post Oak, again, this one on Highway 150 directly across from Northern Elementary.
It's about twice the size of my previous favorite tree - a Post Oak on North Elm Street.

Have you ever seen the biggest the tree in Guilford County? Its supposed to be on Guilford College's campus but I have yet to find it, I bet its gorgeous right now.
Matt, I understand it is a Tulip Poplar in the Guilford college woods, and no I have not seen it yet - I want to.
Oh, and Post Oaks are never really very tall - this one struck me in it's perfect shape. Tulip Poplar and Sycamore are the tallest trees of the Eastern forests. Tulip Poplars pay for it - they get hit by lightning a LOT. But I LOVE a big old Tulip Poplar!
Joel, I grew up in Jefferson Gardens and hiked back to the giant Tulip Poplar quite a few times when I was young. It's probably been 20 years since I've walked back there, but I think I could still find it.
I'd like to see it
